How the HMA Stall is used
A P6P pallet base fitted with IATA horse stalls, giving a travelling box for horses on a freighter main deck. It is available with a canvas top or a solid roof, and in modified builds with different stall positions.
Moving horses by air is an established specialist trade, with bloodstock flying to sales and race meetings as a matter of routine, and this is the standard unit for it. The stalls account for most of the 1,310 kg empty weight, which is why the usable payload is modest for the size of the unit.
Cargo it usually takes
How this family is arranged
- A P6P pallet base with IATA horse-box stalls attached to it.
- Available with a canvas top or a solid roof.
- Modified versions add a place for an escort to travel with the animals.
- A standard pallet base with IATA stalls or pens fitted and secured to it.
- Decks are partitioned in single, double or triple layouts, sized to the animal being carried.
- Ventilation panels, with either a canvas top or a solid roof.
- Absorbent flooring and waste containment.
Why operators pick it
- It is built to the IATA Live Animals Regulations, so the unit itself covers much of the compliance work.
- Extra decks use main-deck height for smaller animals.
- The stalls can be rearranged for different species and shipment sizes.
Settle these points before you book
- Live animals need advance agreement with the airline, veterinary papers, and access for an attendant in flight.
- Empty weight is high relative to the payload carried.
- It loads on freighter main decks only.
