- IATA code
- AMD contoured
- Rate class
- Type 2H
- Aircraft it fits
- 747F, 747 Combi, 777F centre loading only
- Max gross weight
- 6,800 kg (14,991 lb)
- Empty weight
- 370 kg (816 lb)
- AS1825 volume
- 21.2 m³ (750 ft³)
How the M-1H is used
A main-deck container with an upper contour, built to the AMD code and shaped to follow the upper fuselage.
That contour is what separates it from the rectangular M-1: it fills the space above the shoulder of the main deck, where a square unit cannot go. At the same weight rating it carries 21.2 m³ against the M-1's 17.6 m³.
Cargo it usually takes
How this family is arranged
- A main-deck container with an upper contour, shaped to the crown of the fuselage.
- The door is canvas, with net door straps built in.
- A heavier section than lower-deck equipment, sized to fill the main cargo deck of a freighter or Combi.
- The profile is rectangular or contoured at the top, depending on where on the deck the unit sits.
- The door is solid or canvas with net straps. The base rails match the main-deck restraint system.
Why operators pick it
- Gross weight and volume per unit are far higher than any belly ULD.
- It loads through the main cargo door in one lift, which is what makes a freighter turnaround fast.
- It suits dense or bulky shipments that would otherwise need several lower-deck units.
Settle these points before you book
- It loads only on freighters and Combi aircraft that have a main-deck cargo door.
- Some positions accept centre loading only, which limits where the unit can sit.
- Handling needs a main-deck loader, so not every station can take it.
